What a wonderful celebration we had on October 29 celebrating 30 years since our founding and 25 years since we were chartered as a United Methodist Church. We had 100 people in worship where Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño preached an inspiring and uplifting sermon on Jesus command to “feed my lambs.” Our singers and musicians brought their gifts and energy and beautiful music enhancing our worship. And then we enjoyed a tasty lunch and afternoon program of events and fun. It was great to have our current District Superintendent Rev. David Samelson present to celebrate with us, along with Rev. Dick Huser who served here from 1989-1999; and we heard read some letters of congratulations from Rev. Tom Clark (interim 2000), Rev. Don Lee (2000-2011) and Rev. Alison Berry (2011-2015).
A huge thank you to our anniversary committee led by Suzanne Gardner with Barbara Cureton, Marie Kimmes, Kathy Stallings and Rev. Joan Pell. So many people played a part in the day: from the trustees who spruced up our campus, to those who bought and made food, those in the kitchen (before, during and after), those who set up and collapsed tables, those who researched our history and spoke and made videos, those who led and participated in the worship service and the afternoon program, those who decorated the altar, those who directed, sang and played instruments including ReGenesis, those who made phone calls and wrote and mailed letters, those who did audio, visuals, photography and more. Thank you! Thank you!
