For nearly 40 years Hope Secondary School has been educating, nurturing, and inspiring young teens to see the future some doubted would ever come.

Dear Friends,
On January 4, I will be returning to Hope School to help in the Sponsorship office.

Hope School depends on sponsors from all over the world and the correspondence is done in English so it is important to have volunteers that are fluent in that language.

Since Solomon’s unexpected death in August many changes have taken place and the transition has not been easy. When I was asked to return I realized that I could be of help during this difficult time.

Hope School is in dire financial need due to the world economic situation which has caused a drop in donations. Consequently, serious cutbacks have been made. However, this school has a mission of helping those children with multiple needs and it is important it survives.

Thank you for your generous support of Hope School in the past and please keep the children and staff in your prayers. On January 1 a special communion offering will be taken for Hope School.

I look forward to seeing you again after my return February 9.

Blessings,
Yvonne

Hope Secondary School

Hope School is much more than an educational institution: it is a Christian witness in the land of Christ’s birth. Our ministry provides for the spiritual, academic and physical growth of every child we serve.

Founded by the Mennonites in 1961 and now governed by the Arab Charitable Society of Beit Jala, Hope School began as preparatory school for orphaned and disadvantaged Palestinian boys. Since then, Hope School has broadened its ministry to include female and disabled students. Hope School does not discriminate on the basis of religion: both Christian and Muslim students are welcome here.

We encourage all of our students to learn and grow in a supportive and stable environment. Hope School’s reputation as a caring and competent school continues as we provide for needs of children on the fringes of society.
