Music

 

Whether you sing or play an instrument, you'll find a multitude of opportunities to use your gifts for the Lord at SPUMC. We are creatively developing ways of encouraging you to strengthen your musical and worship leadership skills.

Music is a very important part of worship at SPUMC and is an important part of God’s kingdom.

As soon as Samuel anointed David as king, God thrust him into his first ministry: Music (1 Samuel 16:18). David appointed 228 musicians for duty who were "trained and skilled in music for the Lord" (1 Chronicles 25:7). "Sing him a new song: play skillfully, and shout for joy" (Psalm 33:3).

Our vocalists lead the singing at the Contemporary Worship Service at 9:00 am on Sunday mornings, backed by our instrumentalists. The group plays a variety of contemporary Christian Worship music.
